Indian buffalo meat is exported as per global quality norms, says Apeda

India has claimed that consumers overseas could safely import Indian-origin frozen boneless buffalo meat as it is ready in accordance with OIE (worldwide) guidelines to prevent any possibility. 

“The (Indian) buffalo meat is ready and exported in accordance with OIE guidelines (worldwide guidelines) for any possibility mitigation. Only boneless buffalo meat is allowed for export from India which is risk-free and possibility-absolutely free,” the Agricultural and Processed Foodstuff Solutions Export Progress Authority (Apeda) claimed in a assertion on Thursday. 

Apeda, an arm of the Union Commerce Ministry, is the nodal company for selling and producing agricultural exports. Apeda claimed that many interventions have been manufactured by the Centre to handle and eradicate different livestock health conditions and thus buffalo meat was absolutely free of any possibility. 

“The launching of National Animal Disease Control Programme in June 2019, to handle Foot & Mouth Disease and Brucellosis by 2025 with vaccination and eradication of ailment by 2030, is one of the flagship techniques of the Government of India.
