Palakkad rail division ships power tillers to Assam

The Palakkad division of Southern Railway manufactured the very first shipment of power tillers from Palakkad to Assam through the existing fiscal year on Friday.

Jerin G Anand, Senior Divisional Commercial Supervisor of Palakkad, told BusinessLine that the division loaded 546 power tillers created at the Kanjikode device of the Kerala Agro Machinery Company (KAMCO) Ltd to Changsari in close proximity to Guwahati.

 

He stated the power tillers ought to achieve their place in four-5 days. It would demand far more than 10 days, if these power tillers are transported by road. Additionally, road transportation calls for transhipments at some factors, he stated.

The Railway Office has presented extra services such as ramps, improved lights services, and absolutely paved concreted area for facilitating the loading of power tillers from Palakkad, he stated.

 

Stating that Palakkad division had loaded four rakes of power tillers to various places in India through the final fiscal, he stated now it is expecting to load seven-eight rakes of power tillers from Palakkad.

The power tillers are transported in NMG (new modified merchandise) rakes. NMG rake is applied for sending cars, tractors and so on. The power tillers were being transported in parcel vans, BCN rakes previously, he stated.

The principal loading exercise of Palakkad division will take place in Karnataka’s Mangaluru location. Anand stated that loading is also buying up in Palakkad now.

KAMCO is a Kerala Federal government undertaking for the manufacture of agricultural machinery such as power tillers and diesel engines.
